Hello Everyone,
Welcome to my 2020 Stats wrap up and 2021 reading goals!
Let’s start with some stats, shall we? In 2020 I read a total of 86 books. My initial goal was of 50, so I think I did quite well.
I read less than last year because this year I’ve spent much more time on writing too, so I had less time to read.
As you can see, only about 20% of what I read is by a BIPOC author. This is my #1 thing that I want to change in 2021. For the rest, I am pretty pleased with these stats. You can see that I tend to gravitate toward the “Adult” age category and the “Fantasy” genre, and that I read mostly books written by women (more than 75%).

And this bring me to my goals for 2021. I don’t have many, and they are very straight forward:
- Quality over quantity: DNF if it’s not what I want to read in that moment
- Read more adult Fantasy: A list I have includes starting The Grace of Kings by Ken Liu, The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter and continue with The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson
- Read more books by BIPOC authors
- Continue with my 5 non fiction books per year rule
- If I buy a book, I have to read it within the year I buy it
This is it for stats and goals! What reading goals do you have for 2021?
Until next time,
Keky
